Known as the biggest fairy chimney of the Cappadocia region, this castle is located in Ortahisar Town. It is also known for being the first multi-storey settlement of the region. It is surrounded on three sides by steep valleys. It is 6 km from Ürgüp, 15 km from Nevşehir and 4.5 km from Göreme Open Air Museum.

The height of the castle, which is the tallest structure in Ortahisar Town, is 86 meters. The tunnels of the castle, designed with carving, were built in an interconnected manner, resembling tree roots. Each corridor leads to a living area. While visiting Ortahisar Castle, it becomes a tiring trip as it is very high and steep stairs are used.
